We were proud to share the stage with Anette King , and Darren Calder. Anette spoke to the Labour Party perspective on the polices for Immigration. Anette completed a BA from Waikato University while working full time and was the MP for Horowhenua from 1984 until 1990. She was appointed Under Secretary in 1987 and Minister in the 4th Labour Government 1989 – 1990. Following the reshuffle of portfolios in February 2013, Anette took over the responsibility of Spokesperson for Health. Following the 2014 election, she was elected at Deputy Leader of the Opposition, with the Health portfolio. To find out more visit the NZAMI website.
Darren Covered very interesting areas including just what is Sustainable? Focussing on the creation of employment which should be ongoing and sustainable. If your employment is sustainable and you are creating sustainable and full-time employment for New Zealand citizens or residents your application will generally be viewed in a positive light.
- One takeaway from Darrens presentation would be the Immigration System is a complex system with Multiple stakeholders.
- Darren Calder, BMB Manager, INZ

Millionaire immigration is becoming increasingly important to the NZ economy. It forms a critical component in Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce’s “New Zealand Investment Attraction Strategy.” This “smart capital” idea involves doubling the amount of immigration investors and entrepreneurs capital to $7 billion within 3 years.
Queen City Law has probably acted on more $10M and $1.5 M and other successful immigration applications than any other law firm in New Zealand. QCL’s Immigration Team is excellent – the depth and breadth of its services unparalleled in the NZ marketplace.
