January 2014! Summer is here and the best place to be in New Zealand during January is the beach. The water is warm and because New Zealand is a narrow ribbon of land you can access two very different oceans in one day. No wonder Marguerite placed 1st in the North Island open Womans body boarding championships, and 4th at Surfing Championships in Coffs Harbour.
We have sponsored a nine foot longboard and Walsh and Associates Chartered Accountants in Napier, have sponsored a ten foot longboard, all in preparation for the Surfing New Zealand Nationals to be held in Gisborne in January. She will be entering the body board, short board and long board divisions.Queen City Law is proud to sponsor her surfing adventurers! The West Coast is around 4-5 foot this morning and we have a light SW onshore currently blowing, a typical January day! From small waves to some bigger waves get out in the water and try, age is no limit. January is also the time that sees the SW Pacific cyclones forming. North Tropical cyclone Ian is currently approaching Tonga. These cyclones sometimes head south and may will deliver some good waves for later next week! If you are going to head out to the beach for a day surfing or swimming, please be careful, pay attention to the conditions and swim between the yellow and red flags. To check out the surf near you there are many good sites online including.
