- When:Saturday 09 Aug 2014
- What:Tough Guy and Gal Challenge
- Where: Lakes Ranch, Rotorua 6K Mud Run, Obstacle Course
The Queen City Law Tough Girls, Hazel and Sophie, competed in the Tough Guy and Tough Girl Challenge held in Rotorua on a course of 6kms up and down the rolling country hills.
The course includes water trails, a spiders web net climb, mud slide, crawl under barbed wire, a tricky wire rope bridge, swamp crossing and loads of mud. When questioned Hazel found her memory was a little hazy after being frozen but did remember the mud-pit-from-hell, multiple swamp swims, crawl under barbed wire, rope bridge, hurdles, wall climbs, spider web climb, and exhausting tunnel crawls. Sophie has become an expert at the hanging-electric-wire craw. By the course end Hazel and Sophie had run the course in 1hr 7mins (and crossed the line together!!!). The Queen City Law runners have plans to do the same thing next year and try to improve their time. If you are interested in getting down and dirty and have a whole lot of fun, then these unique off-road running events are for you.
The events are open to both male and female competitors who are 13 years of age and older. Challenge yourself. The events have awesome spot prizes, merit prizes, amazing goodie bags, souvenir coffee mugs, challenging obstacles, a fun atmosphere and plenty of free parking. This is New Zealand’s original mud run series with events across the whole North Island including Hawke’s Bay, Palmerston North, Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington and Rotorua.
