Client-centric approach earns Queen City Law 2011’s New Zealand Prendos Property and Construction Law Firm of the Year award.
We take pride in our association with other stakeholders in property projects and enjoy some of the best working relationships of any law firm in the country with other property professionals
In 2004, Lawyer Marcus Beveridge took the plunge and opened his own law firm — Queen City Law, and has never looked back. The firm has found itself at the axis of some of the largest commercial construction projects around
town, and is now the proud recipient of a number of New Zealand Law Awards. The firm was also New Zealand’s Boutique Law Firm of the Year several times. Beveridge attributes the firm’s success to using a highly collaborative, client-centric approach that emphasises sustained involvement in the clients’ activities from the initial stages of a project through to completion. ‘‘We have got so involved in some projects, we’re almost like a de facto developer,’’ he says.
As a service industry, law is all about people. Another key to their success is the way Queen City Law has been able to build robust client relationships and add value to their clients beyond a particular legal transaction. This can create a ‘‘trusted partner relationship’’, where a lawyer is more than just a supplier of services; they become part of the client’s business, and the client will ask for advice across a wider range of matters because the lawyer is able to completely understand the client’s needs. ‘‘Advice should be tailored to a client’s own business practicalities and not simply be legal advice in a vacuum’’. It really comes down to putting client’s first — lawyers and law firms keeping what matters at the forefront, rather than being distracted by their own internal concerns, as well as having passion for what you’re doing. We take pride in our association with other stakeholders in property projects and enjoy some of the best working relationships of any law firm in the country with other property professionals.
As a boutique, Queen City Law is nimble and agile, completing projects efficiently while at all times focusing on adding bottom line value to all property and construction based dealings. In difficult economic times this approach to legal matters is even more critical. Contact us for all legal solutions for property or construction projects.
