Health Officers will be screening everyone who arrives in New Zealand. After arriving in New Zealand, you must self-isolate for 14 days. If you do not self-isolate or you do not follow the instructions of a Health Officer you can be detained and deported. Everyone is expected to self-isolate after arriving in New Zealand, regardless of your immigration status.

If you have been in close contact with anyone who is confirmed to have been infected with COVID-19, you must self-isolate for 14 days as well.

We recommend that if you are unable to return to work because of either the border closer or the self-isolation, you contact your employer and explain your situation.

Everyone who is self-isolating must register with Healthline. You can do this online by going to: https://healthy.org.nz/register

Or you call the following numbers:

  • For domestic: 0800 358 5453
  • For international: +64 9 358 5453

While self-isolating you must limit your contact with others as much as possible. If you are at home with other members of your family, please stay at least 1 metre away from them and spend no more than 15 minutes with them at a time. Use your common sense and take all of your usual measures you and others would use to avoid getting sick, such as washing your hands and keeping away from others.

If you become sick while self-isolating, please call Healthline on 0800 358 5453
