International Travel and Migration: June 2014

arrivals icontatistics_New_ZealandInternational Travel and Migration for New Zealand were released today showing a continuing strong trend of migrants arriving.
The figures show a record for June arrivals.

In June 2014 compared with June 2013:

  • Visitor arrivals (162,100) were up 2,600. The biggest changes were in arrivals from:
    • Japan (up 1,200)
    • China (up 900).
  • Overseas trips by New Zealand residents (206,500) were up 7,700.

In June 2014, seasonally adjusted figures showed a net gain of 4,300 migrants.
